Shostakovich
Piano Concerto No. 2
II. Andante
The sublime Andante slow movement from Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2 is one of the most revered tracks in the Western musical canon. This recording is performed exquisitely by one of the UKs leading chamber orchestras, London Concertante, together with internationally acclaimed pianist Daniel Grimwood. It is soulful, heart-wrenching and mesmerizing, with an extraordinary depth of character, and a gracious, sonorous sound.
This piece is just one of the tracks from their forthcoming classical/jazz crossover album (entitled, ‘Re-imagined’) due out in the autumn, and was recorded at Mark Knopfler’s iconic British Grove Studios in London.
We perform all over the uk (and beyond)
One of our greatest pleasures as an ensemble is that we perform all over the UK. One day we will be in London, the next in Manchester and then the following day in Edinburgh. Join your local mailing list to find out what events are going on near you.
