Introducing London Concertante

What London Concertante prides itself most on, it its ethos and unique rapport it builds with its audience. On average, one in two of their audience members have not been to a concert of classical music before. They perform around 100 concerts a year in cathedrals, churches, concert halls, clubs and festivals, making them the busiest ensemble of its kind in the country.

Vivaldi's The Four Seasons

Baroque music was particularly inclined towards programmatic music and in common with many others, Vivaldi enjoyed giving his works non-musical titles such as “Storm at Sea”, “The Bull Finch”, “Alla Rustica”, etc.  However only seven of his concertos actually have a programme that directs them, and such direction is most clearly exhibited in The Four Seasons.

Music From The Movies

Our Music From The Movies album includes classics from Out of Africa, The Magnificent Seven and The Godfather as well as other Hollywood greats, including some of John Williams’ vast musical output. This album launch marks London Concertante’s first foray into the world of film music.

Romantic Cello

Daniel Grimwood (piano) and Chris Grist (cello) join forces to perform some of the most romantic pieces ever written for cello.

London Concertante and Tango Music

In the early 2000’s, Chris Grist, London Concertante’s Artistic Director, and long-time friend and colleague David Gordon, renowned composer and keyboardist, devised a fusion of Eastern European gypsy fiddle music with the blazing passion of Argentinian tango. These flavours come together in a project called Gypsy Tango Pasion which London Concertante most recently toured in 2015.

TUNE IN - An Online Concert Series

An online series of twelve concerts brought to you by London Concertante and filmed at Asylum Chapel in Peckham, South London.

This series has something for everyone. Join us for a programme of Piazzolla or perhaps you prefer Viennese Waltzes. We have solo recitals, an evening of jazz and much much more.

Secret Garden Concerts

With outdoor performances being allowed well before indoor concert owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chris’ family encouraged him to organise a series of outdoor concerts in his newly renovated front garden. These events, entitled Secret Garden Concerts, brought together London Concertante musicians and their friends to perform smaller scale pieces of chamber music. We also collaborated with Sven-Hanson Britt, winner of MasterChef: The Professionals Rematch, who created a stunning tasting menu each evening for the audience to enjoy alongside the music in a beautiful, and safe, outdoor space.
